Dear Citizen’s of Big Bear
Lake
I cannot tell you how
disappointed I was to receive the computer generated political attack telephone
ad against two City Council candidates October 4th from a Washington DC
political operative.
City Council campaigns
have always been spirited issue based debates. There are always differing points
of view, as there should be. Until now, campaigns have never been mean spirited
or personally attacking.
The paradigm shifted
October 4th when the attack ad came out against two fine candidates, Tim Brigham
and Rick Herrick. I ask Big Bear voters to focus on the issues. Do not be swayed
by the Washington DC insider, Dennis Large’ and his negative political tactics.
The future of Big
Bear Lake is at stake!
Negative smear tactics are
not appropriate for our closely-knit small town. We see each other at the post
office, in the grocery store, and in all of our community activities. Folks are
not hesitant to talk to me when they see me to ask questions and clarify issues.
The result of negative
attack campaigning is that well qualified people will not run for office and we
will have an unhealthy divided community. Big Bear Lake needs the very best
people possible to volunteer to do all the work necessary to have the very best
small town we can have.
Don’t let a person whom we
never see in town, who does not participate in our local events and activities
and who is bringing negative attack ads to Big Bear Lake sway you. I urge you to
be well informed on the issues, think about what is good for our friends and
family and vote November 7th.
