Valentine’s Day at

Big Bear Mountain Resorts

Regi Russell Solon proposing to Lisa Palmer

This Valentine's Day, Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR) offers couples the perfect romantic getaway.  Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are currently experiencing the season's best winter conditions after recent storms have brought more than 22 inches of fresh snow on top of an already impressive two to three foot base. So whether it's a surprise trip to the slopes for a weekend getaway or you're looking for a romantic spot to propose this Valentine's Day - Big Bear Mountain Resorts invites you to make this holiday one to remember.
Just ask 31-year-old Regi Russell Solon how romantic it really is atop Snow Summit where just last week he proposed to his girlfriend of four years, Lisa Palmer, 28. Both Regi and Lisa are originally from the East Coast, but now reside in Long Beach, California where they met. Shortly after the couple met, Lisa planned a trip to Snow Summit. Both Regi and Lisa were skiers, but that trip was the first time either one of them had skied in California.
"It was on that trip to Snow Summit Lisa planned that I fell in love with her," said Solon. "So when it came to the proposal, I knew the perfect place to ask her was at Snow Summit."
With a picture-perfect backdrop, still strapped to his skis, Regi got down on one knee and proposed to Lisa. She said yes.
Ready to plan your own romantic getaway? Big Bear Mountain Resorts is great for first-time skiers and snowboarders since couples can take a fun lesson for two with an instructor to get the day started. Once they've learned the ropes, couples are off on their own!
And remember, one lift ticket gets you into both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, so you can hit the rails and jibs at one of the hottest terrain parks in the nation at "The Park" at Bear Mountain, then head over to Snow Summit to check out the spectacular views from the View Haus restaurant. And just for Valentine's Day, the View Haus will offer a special treat: two splits of champagne and a Valentine's Day cake for just $10.
"Conditions up here at Big Bear Mountain Resorts are really fantastic," said Chris Riddle, marketing director for Big Bear Mountain Resorts. "It's a great time to take advantage of what our mountains have to offer - more snow than we've seen in years and some of the best conditions we've ever had."
Current weather and snowmaking conditions are available by calling 800-BEAR-MTN.  With
conditions and the amount of open runs changing daily, make sure to call the snow report or visit www.bigbearmountainresorts.com for the latest information.
