Marijuana bust in Big Bear City

   Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Aug. 30th, Deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff's Station and Detectives from the Narcotics Division of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department served a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Barrett Way in Big Bear City. The search resulted in the discovery of a highly sophisticated and elaborate marijuana grow that included approximately 350 marijuana plants, as well as grow equipment, including lights, filters, fans, dehumidifiers, and Carbon Dioxide. In addition to the marijuana cultivation, a large amount of cash, marijuana packaged individually for sale, concentrated cannabis, paraphernalia, and packaging was found.

   The owner of the residence, 21-year-old Adam Hoffman, was arrested on felony charges of cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. Currently, Hoffman is being held in custody at the Big Bear Jail in lieu of $200,000.00 bail. An arraignment hearing in the matter has been set for September 4, 2007.

   The combined efforts of Big Bear Sheriff’s Station Deputies and San Bernardino County Narcotics Detectives resulting in the arrest of Hoffman have prevented drug sales in the estimated potential amount of $1 million.
