Tuesday - May 20th at 6:30 p.m.
On Tuesday May 20th, 6:30 PM, at the
Discovery Center, Big Bear Group Sierra Club will present Peter Fulkerson and
Scott Cordner, entertaining and enlightening us about “Backpacking and the
Woods”, a guide for hiking in our forests. They will talk of shoes, what to
pack, how much water, what to observe, shelter, and other essentials. Both are
Search and Rescue volunteers.
Peter, extreme adventurer and athlete, who, with his wife, Renee, has
traveled the world crossing raging rivers by rope while dragging bicycles from
their lines, climbing rocks in the clouds, among many adventures. They own
Equada Outfitters.
Scott, lecturer and photographer, presented his adventures backpacking along
the entire Pacific Crest Trail, from Mexico to Canada. He displays his
photographic prints at United Wood Craftsmen.
Beautiful Sierra Club 2008 wall and
desk calendars will be for sale, also shopping bags. Bring items for recycling:
aluminum cans and plastic bottles, empty ink jet cartridges, cell phones, and
PDA’s.
