Citizens on Patrol need volunteers
The Big Bear Sheriff’s Station is now
accepting applications for Citizens On Patrol Volunteers. COP’s assist
Sheriff’s Deputies as the eyes and ears of the Valley by patrolling
neighborhoods, conducting vacation checks, helping with traffic control and
local community events, and assisting with other duties.
The Sheriff’s Station will be conducting
interviews the week of September 28th – October 2nd, and will be holding its
next COP academy from October 5th – October 9th. COP volunteers must be at
least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid
ID, pass an interview and background check, go through a training course, be
willing to attend monthly meetings and volunteer a minimum of 17 hours per
